Chan Suk On (Kowloon, Hong Kong) è nata a Hong Kong. Si è laureata alla Hong Kong Polytechnic University con un Bachelor of Photographic Design. Ha conseguito il Master of Arts in Fine Arts presso l’Università cinese di Hong Kong. Si ispira alle esperienze della vita quotidiana. A Chan Suk On piace fare fotografie. A volte, la sua macchina fotografica deve essere aggiustata. Le spese di manutenzione sono molto costose. Ha il bisogno di reprimere questa scatola nera della sua macchina fotografica. Qual è il segreto all’interno della fotocamera? Ha usato molta forza per allentare le viti per soddisfare la sua curiosità. Ha scoperto le piccole parti all’interno e ha rivelato le cose sconosciute nascoste nella fotocamera. Non c’è connessione tra parti e parti. Non sono forme geometriche ma sono composte da forme irregolari che si basano su diverse funzioni. Pezzi sciolti presenti quando l’oggetto non ha funzioni, ha comunque valore? Quando ogni piccola parte è smontata, come un quadro anatomico, e non ha alcuna funzione. La sua bellezza emerge naturalmente. Queste piccole parti sono nella sua collezione e le ha riorganizzate per realizzare quest’opera d’arte. Ha usato le riprese migliori e le ha disposte con cura su uno sfondo bianco. Questa disposizione è semplice e ordinata. Si riferisce all’incompletezza esteriore, alla forma irregolare, alla semplicità, al minimalismo, senza troppe modifiche, e alla ricerca della pace interiore e dell’indifferenza. Slega le parti e decostruiscile, lascia che gli oggetti si mostrino e respirino naturalmente e apprezza la maestria del creatore.

Chan Suk On was born and lives in Hong Kong. She graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Photographic Design. She gained her Master of Arts in Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. On is an editor, photographer, and artist. She is inspired by everyday life experiences. Her artistic journey is going from documentary photography to conceptual art.
Chan Suk On likes taking photographs. Sometimes, her camera needs to be fixed. The maintenance fees are very expensive. She has an urge to crack down on this black box of her camera. What’s the secret inside the camera? She used a lot of strength to loosen the screws to satisfy her curiosity. She discovered the small parts inside and revealed the unknown things hidden in the camera. There is no connection between parts and parts. They are not geometric shapes but are composed of irregular shapes which are based on different functions. Loose pieces present when the object has no functions, does it still have value? When every small part is disassembled, like an anatomical picture, and has no function. Its beauty naturally emerges. These little parts are in her collection, and she reorganized them to make this artwork. She used top shots and arranged them carefully on white background. This arrangement is simple and neat. It refers to external incompleteness, irregular shape, simplicity, minimalism, without too much modification, and the pursuit of inner peace and indifference. Untie the parts and deconstruct them, let the objects display and breathe naturally, and appreciate the craftsmanship of the creator.
